I went to get my State car inspection here, after waiting for 30 minutes the Inspector comes in and tells me my rear tire failed inspection. Which is interesting because less than 2 days earlier I personally rotated my tires and checked them for wear, and while they are worn, they had between 3/32 and 4/32 tread depth. Also, the wear indicator bars, (at a height of 2/32) were not in contact with the road at any of the indicator bars. I told him I did not agree and asked him to show me the worn tire that failed the test. He wouldn't take the tire off the car, so I took my flashlight from my pocket and tried to make him look at the indicator bar, he looked but would not agree that the tire was safe by the standard set by the Virginia State Police. To make matters worse the Manager came out and took a look and basically said that it's the Inspector's call. And would not counter the fact right before his eyes that the tire was in spec. Be wary, this is not an honest place for State Inspections.

These guys helped me out in a moment of need recently. I stopped by their shop on a Friday afternoon, due to a burning odor and trace amounts of smoke coming from the engine bay of my vehicle. While getting ready to drive the car inside their garage and up on a lift, one of the mechanics found the problem right away--a large black plastic bag had gotten snagged to the underside of my vehicle, and the hot pipes had started burning it. Whew! Anyway, glad this shop helped me out, which was a Friday afternoon (good luck finding anyone still working then) and I had to drive from Virginia to Maryland. And no charge. Thanks, guys! I had a flat tire and was able to barely made it to Kingstowne Auto Care. I just needed a quick tire change and the desk attendant quickly got a mechanic and he changed it on the spot for me. I was in and out in 15 minutes. No waiting, no large bill either! Thanks for getting me back on the road faster than AAA!

What a great repair shop. I was in need of brake pads and rotors on the front of my Explorer, as well as an examination of a problematic emergency brake. They were by far the lowest quote (4 different options - and by $60) on the brakes and while the e-brake needed an expensive repair, the costs were 2/3 parts. The labor was reasonable, and the repairs are well done. Kingstowne called as I requested once the problem was evaluated and only made repairs with my go-ahead. They were also helpful allowing me to pay by phone and locking my keys in the car so it could be picked up after hours during my work-week!

Friendly, professional service. I've been to Kingstowne Auto Care a couple of times: once to replace a few burned out bulbs in my car, and once to repair a leaky tire. Each time, they performed the service quickly while I waited, and I was pleasantly surprised by the final bill: $4 per bulb replaced, and $10 per tire leak repaired. It's hard to imagine how they make any money with those prices. Their staff was very courteous and professional. I'd gladly return there in the future. Friendly, professional service. I was looking for a local auto... I was looking for a local auto repair shop online this morning and remembered the good service I received at Kingstowne Auto Care. I few months ago, my son's car overheated and I had it towed to Kingstowne over the weekend because it was the nearest auto repair facility. I called the following morning, to explain the details and within a short period of time I had an estimate for the repair. Unfortunately, the engine was already damaged; however, the professionalism and courtesy afforded me was the greatest I have had in an auto repair facility in a long time. Bottom line, I am going back today to have some work performed.

These guys are the best at customer service. Great prices as well. I have taken all of our vehicles to them. No matter the age or wear of the car, they have fixed any problem. I tell all of my cleints to see them.

Great service and quick turnaround time! I used to live in the Kingstowne area and had scrimped on my car care duties by going to the Wal-Mart there for an oil change. Worst mistake ever! They broke the oil pressure gauge sensor nearly clean off when they untightened the oil filter and failed to mention a word about it (of course). So when I went looking for a mechanic to fix it, I chose Kingstown Auto Care because it was close. I totally lucked out. The guy there, I think his name was John, said that I should take the car back to Wal-Mart and show them the damage and make a claim. He said he often fixed cars that Wal-Mart's techs had bungled. So I took his advice. Wal-Mart covered the cost of repairs (which was about $150 if I remember correctly...and is a good deal considering the metro area we're in here) and I had my car back in just a few short hours. Now, over a year later, I need to take my car in for a tune up but don't live in the area. I had such a great experience with these guys that I'm seriously considering driving the 20 miles one way when I do have it serviced. If you're close to the shop, try them out. If you're not close to the shop, try it out anyway...they seem to be pretty decent guys and that's hard to come by in metro areas where customers are a dime a dozen. I've been going to Kingstowne Autocare for over 5 years and have been very satisfied with their prices, service, and speed to repair my vehicles. They are honest and more than once have advised against getting a service that was not needed. As a car enthusiast, I am very particular about who services my cars and how they are maintained. They perform manufacturer recommended services, but without all the unnecessary checks and costs, and have also installed aftermarket parts.
